Posteriormente viajó a Colombia, Ecuador, y Yuston (Texas, EE. UU), donde permaneció seis meses trabajando como técnico industrial en la Hidraulic Press.
Ingresó al DTICA en 1952, y al año siguiente viajó a Chillán, para tomar parte activa en la organización del Proyecto Nº 26, del que fue jefe.
