Médico chileno, destacado investigador y oftalmólogo. Se tituló en la Universidad de Chile en 1910, realizó un viaje de especialización en Europa donde fue discípulo de Víctor Morax. Fue miembro del Partido Liberal, escribía artículos políticos bajo el seudónimo de Carlos de Arosa.
